it’s impossible to resist buying a tolkien book. they all are so nicely illustrated and bound.
of course, it helps that i like his prose.
this book probably has most value to literary scholars, as it has tolkien’s drafts of kullervo story retelling and his essay on kalevala. still, it was interesting and, dare i say, entertaining to read.
now i’m interested in reading kalevala, which somehow eluded me during my mythology phase.
